Meet our Masters of Ceremonies

Carrie Lujan & Dave Caldwell

Carrie Lujan and Dave Caldwell have hosted and carried SCVTV’s Community Corner through 5 seasons — interviewing hundreds of local community nonprofits, educational institutions, and civic organizations. Together, they’re a dynamic duo full of charm, comedy, and a desire to spotlight the incredible people and organizations in the Santa Clarita Valley.

Carrie & Dave both have extremely successful media careers, respectively.

Carrie Lujan is the Communications Manager for the City of Santa Clarita. She was named the 2021 3CMA Communicator of the Year and her team was recognized with the 2020 Frank Potter Cowan Crisis Communication Leader Award from CAPIO. She oversees the Communications Division which is responsible for press releases, speech writing, event planning, Seasons Magazine, social media, video production, articles, media relations, community relations/engagement, internal communications, crisis communications, and more. During her tenure in Santa Clarita, Lujan has brought an out-of-the-box creativity that has taken City communications to the next level. Under her leadership the City has launched award-winning public safety campaigns, introduced residents to a new (and already beloved) City mascot, grown its social media presence by the thousands, and revamped long-running City events. The Communications Division has been honored with several prestigious CAPIO Epic Awards and 3CMA Savvy awards. Lujan graduated with a degree in Speech Communications from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo. Inspired by a love of writing and storytelling, she began her career as a journalist, working for a local newspaper before making the jump to television news as a reporter/producer in Palm Springs. Her on-camera skills, production experience, and passion for writing landed her a job at a boutique lifestyle public relations firm in Hollywood. She pitched, booked, planned, and acted as the spokesperson for TV interviews, representing a variety of clients. Following an interest in local government, Lujan was selected as the Public Information Officer for the City of Santa Monica – before moving to her current role as Communications Manager for the City of Santa Clarita. Lujan is also involved in the Santa Clarita community as a board member for Bridge to Home and the Salvation Army.

Dave Caldwell boasts a distinguished career in sports broadcasting and communications, marked by accolades such as the 2017 SCSB Award for Outstanding Broadcast of High School Sports and a nomination for a Los Angeles Emmy for his role as Host/Producer of the "2013 High School Football Preview Show" with SCVTV. Recognized for eight consecutive years as one of Southern California's Best Play-by-Play Sportscasters by the Los Angeles Daily News, Caldwell has lent his voice to major networks like ESPN and Fox Sports West, serving as the authoritative voice of The Master's University Athletic Department for over a decade. His tenure as Sports Information Director at The Master's University, now entering its second year, underscores his deep commitment to sports and media. Caldwell's multifaceted career includes roles as a news anchor, show host, and sports director for various prominent platforms, from SCVTV and KHTS AM-1220 to The Signal Newspaper. Prior to his current position, he led public relations for the William S. Hart Union School District, overseeing all communications efforts. Caldwell holds a bachelor's degree in radio, film, and television from Colorado State University.
